Flock of boats

Here's a picture I took while lazying in the sun last Sunday (which is obviously what you're supposed to do on Sun-day). Notice all the little sailing boats on the horizon:

And here, for the friends who are interested in seeiing where I live, is the chair I was 'lazying' in (and the sun, which actually gave me a tan, imagine that in November!):

And here is our kitchen/dining room/living room. It's a bit of a mess, but what would you expect, I'm living there hey!

Penthouse pictures

What is it like to live in a penthouse and have these views in the morning:

I know what it's like :-) These pictures were taken from the appartment I'm living in at the moment. It's quite nice, and obviously the view is the most amazing thing about it. It's quite impressive to sit through a thunderstorm here too... Don't get too jealous though, I'm not here that often. I'm either working (most of the time) or going out (once in a while). The locals here spend a lot of their time going out parading up and down this street:

They literally parade up and down and show off themselves for the people parading in the opposite direction and the people sitting in chairs outside the bars (like me at the moment I took this picture). I'm not completely comfortable with the parading yet, I'll have to practice that a bit more. It's quite nice to just sit and look though, and check out what clothes the people are wearing :-) To all my male friends out there, you'd love it, the girls are very beautiful here.

The next picture is especially for Joeri (because he writes the most comments here)! Joeri, this is where you would be running if you were living here instead of in Copenhagen:

Like it? The sea is right behind the bars to the left. I hear the whole long stretch of beach here turns into a gigantic outdoor nightclub in summer. If I'm still here then I'll check that out to see if it's not exaggerated.

Temperature Swings continued...

And yes, today the weather is beautiful and warm again!
Though somebody told me it's not usual for this time of year... I think if it starts to get colder I'll just move to Egypt, hah ;-)

Temperature Swings

Hello friends, it's been ages! I've been busy getting used to my new job and my new environment. Living in Italy is great so far. The food is great (a lot of pasta and seafood, I've eaten all kinds of sea-creatures here I'd never seen before =D ), the language is great (I've had very little time for the assimil course since I arrived here actually, and am now learning just by speaking with the locals, which is going much faster :-)), and the weather... was great untill yesterday. Yesterday and all the days before were glorious: sunshine, 25 degrees in the afternoon and not a drop of rain. Some desert wind keeping us warm I guess, but that all changed last night with a fantastic storm. I got out of bed to watch the sea through the window of the top floor flat I'm living in at the moment. I love storms at night :-) Today was rainy and colder (I'm guessing around 15 degrees), like a Belgian September. Maybe autumn exists here after all?
Anyway, the temperature swings haven't caused any mood swings yet. My job is great, my collegues are great, and especially all you family and friends at home and around the world, who keep reading this and remember me (and occasionally mail me and/or drop comments, thanks for that!), are great!
